The CID was formed on <strong>1 April 1906 <\/strong>by the British Government.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is an organization of <strong>Indian Police<\/strong>. Therefore, it will not be wrong to call CID officers as police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CID officers act as the <strong>detective agency <\/strong>for the Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CID investigates special category cases and cases assigned by the government and <strong>DGP <\/strong>(Director General of Police). Such as investigate cases like murder cases, dacoity, cheating and any sexual offense etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ranks_For_CID_Officers\"><\/span>Ranks For CID Officers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following are some of the departmental ranks of CID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Additional Director General of Police (ADGP)<\/li><li>Superintendent of Police<\/li><li>Deputy Superintendent of Police<\/li><li>Inspector-General of Police<\/li><li>Deputy Inspector General of Police<\/li><li>Inspector<\/li><li>Constable<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility_to_become_a_CID_Officer\"><\/span>Eligibility to become a CID Officer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To become a CID officer, a candidate must have the following qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To become a CID employee or CID officer, the candidate must have acquired the <strong>citizenship of India<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Both male and female can apply for CID officer.<\/li><li>To become a CID employee, the candidate must have passed 12th from a recognized school. And there should be at <strong>least 55% marks<\/strong> in both 10th and 12th.<\/li><li>Candidate should be <strong>graduate or postgraduate<\/strong> from a recognized college or university.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical Qualifications <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Physical height to become a CID Officer-<ul><li>For men &#8211; <strong>165cm <\/strong>and chest &#8211; 76 cm<\/li><li>For women &#8211; <strong>150cm<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>To become a CID officer, the <strong>eyes<\/strong> must be healthy.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Age_Limit_to_become_CID_Officer\"><\/span>Age Limit to become CID Officer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like <strong>UPSC<\/strong> (Union Public Service Commission) and other government jobs, different age limits have been set for all categories in CID. as written below\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>General category- 20 to 27 years<\/li><li>OBC category- 20 to 30 years<\/li><li>ST\/ SC category- 20 to 32\/35 years<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Relaxation of <strong>3 years <\/strong>is given for OBC category and <strong>5 years<\/strong> for ST\/SC category in CID. A candidate can <strong>apply<\/strong> only within the prescribed number of attempts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>General category- 4 times<\/li><li>OBC category- 7 times<\/li><li>ST\/ SC category- Unlimited number of times<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Salary_of_CID_Officer\"><\/span>Salary of CID Officer*<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you all know that the salary of any department is <strong>not fixed<\/strong>.
