What is IIT?
IIT: A group of Educational Engineering Institutes. Which is the best and public institute to get higher education. It started in 1951 AD.

Qualifications for admission at IITs?

JEE Exam
For taking admission in engineering, there are many examinations at the state level, but for national level engineering, JEE exam is the only one.
The full form of JEE is the ‘Joint Entrance Exam‘. Which is conducted by CBSE 4 times a year.
However, since 2013, JEE exam is being conducted in two levels, In which first is JEE Main and the second is JEE Advanced.
1. JEE Main
JEE Main is the preliminary exam for taking admission at reputed universities like IITs. That’s name is included in the few difficult examinations of the country.
What are the qualifications required to appear for JEE Main?
- The candidate must be 10+2.
- Must have passed 11th and 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) subjects or should be studying in 12th.
- It is mandatory to have a minimum of 60% marks in 12th.
Note- Student who is studying in 12th. He can also appear in this exam but if the student fails in the 12th board exam or is not able to score a minimum of 60% marks then he will not be given admission even after passing in JEE Main.
Paper Pattern
JEE Exam is of full 3 hours in which questions from the following subjects are asked.

- No number is added or deducted when a question is left out.

2. JEE Advanced
The exam is the second and final exam for admission in IITs. It is completely different from the preliminary exam and It’s more difficult.
Although in it also the same three subjects are Physics, Chemistry & Maths.
What are the qualifications required to appear for JEE Advanced?
- The candidate should have passed 10+2 (i.e. 12th examination PASS.)
- There should be a Top 20% of students in the JEE Main exam. Which is ensured differently according to the consultation of different state boards. But if we talk about the average, then the student should have 75% or more marks.
Note- If you have passed 12th and your marks are between 60% to 75% then you can give JEE Main exam but cannot give JEE Advanced exam.

How much is the fee in IIT?
To study in any IIT of India, the student had to pay ₹ 90000 as tuition fee per year. But for the last few years, the Indian Central Government has increased the tuition fees of IITs from 90000 to ₹ 200000 per year.
SC / ST and PWD i.e. differently-abled are given leave on tuition fees but no exemption is given in additional fees like hotel and library.
Students whose annual family income is less than ₹ 1,00,000. A fee waiver (No Fee) facility is available for them. The same students whose annual family income is between ₹ 1,00,000 to ₹ 5,00,000. There is a facility for them to pay one-third of the tuition fee (⅓).
All eligible students can take advantage of this scheme.
