Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recruits every year for grades and posts of IAS, IRS, and many government departments.

The Civil Services Exam is the toughest in the country. Group A and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IRS) officers are selected.  

Under Central services, there are services of group A and group B. Officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IRS) are selected under the All India Services.  The people selected in these are given the cadre of states and union territories. 

There are a total of 24 services in UPSC, for which candidates are selected through the Civil Services Examination.  These are divided into two categories, All India Services and Central Services.
